I am 22 years old and am currently studying Model Making, Design and Digital Effects in iadt (Dun Laoighaire). I am just finishing my third year here. Over the three years I have learned a broad amount of skills including the proper use of many materials and gained a huge insight into sculpting, design processes, scale modelling, prop and prototype making, street theater, many digital practices and the useful skill of mold making to name a few.
Ever since I was young I've always had a huge interest in films and how they were made. Seeing the designs of such iconic characters like Predator and The Terminator have always been inspiration for the field I have chosen today.
Although I have learned much digital programs in my three years in college, I do feel more comfortable in the physical end of model making. Its the physical effects in films that really grabs my attention in comparison to the ever expanding computer generated effects. Although it must be said that I do respect the work that is produced by computer.
The idea behind my logo is quite simple. For many years now I have been collecting cacti, I even have one in my workshop area, so it only seemed right to use one as my mascot if you will.
